About Us

Organic Matters Foundation is a NGO with a difference. We draw expertise on regenerative and ecological agriculture from all practices, sharing with farmers across the Pacific and Australia.

Our mission is to ensure that from the largest to the smallest of farmers have access to grass roots farming  practices, reminding them what they already know.

Some of these folks are:

Mike Smith – Founding Principal and Education Lead

Cheryl Smith – Technical Director

Will Elrick - Agroecologist

Mike McCosker – Soil School Educator

Jodi Smith – Soil School Educator

Sonia Ghiggioli - Organic Land Manager

Kelly Simpson Clark – Web and Graphic Designer

Our Volunteers

We’re also blessed to have volunteers come and share their time with us – both during Soil School and on farm in Australia. We want to thank Dave Grech and Michelle Smith for their work and support in country!

The Carbon Collective

Open your Carbon Account.

Put carbon back into the soil.

The Carbon Collective is an innovative carbon banking platform for individuals to offset their carbon footprint and put carbon back into the soil.

Putting carbon back into the soil reverses climate change, allows us to maintain healthier soil, increases farmers’ yield and improves the nutrient density of food. We are selling 53,000 tons of carbon from regenerative agriculture projects on Batiki Island, Fiji. The average household consumes 18 tons of carbon per year. This is your opportunity to open your carbon account!

As the first carbon account holders, we will support you on your carbon banking journey and grow your account into the future.
